What is Body Dysmorphic Disorder?

Man is a creature who is never satisfied. Humans will always constantly trying to fulfill their ambition. However, if the ambition was taken by the wrong way, of course, it will only cause harm to themselves. In addition to material wealth, physical condition is one that is often the object of human discontent. But unfortunately, not all of us understand how to treat our bodies well. We often feel dissatisfied with the physical condition of our own. We may not be satisfied with the condition of our physical form, but the health factors should still be a priority. The best way is to change it in a natural way, not in ways that harm our bodies.

an anxiety

Body dysmorphic disorder (BDD) is a disorder in which the sufferer feels obsessed with their physical condition, they have a very high anxiety and dissatisfaction on their physical form. People with body dysmorphic disorder pay attention to the physical appearance in detail. They will make a mandatory in order that their physical form in accordance with what is in their imagination. Their dissatisfaction is in the texture and color of skin, texture and color of hair, and nose. In men who suffer from BDD, the majority of them will put their attention on the muscles they have. As a result of the anxiety and dissatisfaction, the body dysmorphic disorder sufferers can experience extreme depression, and quite a lot of sufferers who reached the stage of attempt suicide.

The majority of body dysmorphic disorder sufferers could take 3 to 8 hours a day to think about all of physical aspects on their body that is not perfect. In the most cases of BDD patients, many who spend their time in front of the mirror, although there are also some people who just avoid mirrors because of fear see the imperfections on their bodies. Some of the patients may also have a habit of wearing makeup very thick, and not seldom of those who like to isolate themselves from social life. Therefore, a lot of people with body dysmorphic disorder who have chaos in the aspect of career, academic, and other social aspects. There is one more thing that makes me very cringe, because some of them have pretty extreme measures, they peeled their own skin until it bled. it's awful, isn't it?

Therefore, many of BDD sufferers who take shortcuts to fulfill their desires. The actions they often do is to do a lot of cosmetic surgery such as plastic surgery; dental surgery, and other surgery to repair the body parts they think are not perfect. For men who suffer from body dysmorphic disorder, usually they will also suffer from muscle dysmorphia, that is an obsession with muscular body shape. And the shortcuts are often taken is to consume excessive supplements, and also using steroids.
Michael Jackson

A famous figure with body dysmorphic disorder is the world pop legend who died in the year 2009, that is Michael Jackson. Michael is well known with his performances were always eccentric. He was always surprised the world by varying the shape of his face and the color of his skin. That's what makes him a BDD sufferer. Even some say that the cause his death, one factor is due to these habit.

However, we must remain grateful to our physical condition. However, with the gratitude, then it doesn't mean we leave it alone. All we have to do is take care of it properly, by maintaining and making it healthier. If any part of the body that are not healthy, we can't leave it alone, so we need to fix it naturally.

Keep healthy everyone. :)

Stress and Emotional Eating

Women eating chocolate
Many ways in which the people to cope with their stress. However, most of these people will relieve stress in a way that is not good, such as smoking or drinking alcohol. Have you ever heard the term "Emotional Eating"??. I have a friend, a woman, who told me that if she was getting stressed or get a bad mood, then her appetite become increases. Every time she was in a bad mood condition, then the food becomes her impingement. She began to chew the food until he felt calm. Impingement to the food is what it called emotional eating.

Thus, emotional eating is the urge to eat or hunger arising out of emotional or stress. People who experience emotional eating, making the food as a way to vent their emotions, such as anger, resentment, disappointment, fear, anxiety, or other negative emotions.

In fact, people who experience emotional eating is not really really feel hungry. They will eat or chew something unconsciously, this phenomenon can lead to a person experiencing a variety of eating disorders such as "binge eating" or "bulimia nervosa". Binge eating itself is a condition in which a person eats excessive portions and can be said not to be normal. While bulimia nervosa is a disorder that makes a person eating very much and then vomited again. And for those who suffer from obesity, in general including the emotional eaters.

From most people that I have observed and experienced emotional eating, the majority are women, although many men who also experience it. Perhaps because women have more sensitive feelings than men. And again, most women are fans of ice cream and chocolate, it's not good if they vent it by eating ice cream and chocolate very much. I also watched my female friends, where they always keep snacks with them. That's why that makes some women who are running the diet and exercise program, always a failure. Because on the other hand, they also often experience emotional eating. Remember!! the wrong diet will only torment the body and cause stress. Instead of losing fat, but it precisely adds the fat in their bodies so that this can lead to obesity.

So it is important for you to control your appetite and your emotions. Identify the cause you want to eat something, are you really hungry and your body really needs food? or because you are experiencing emotional eating. Because it is very important keep healthy foods in your side, because if you are unconsciously exposed to emotional eating, at least the food taken into your body is healthy food, such as fruits, whole wheat bread or almonds and walnuts (nuts this can be to lower your blood pressure). For me, physical exercise is still be the best stress management, exercise regularly and correctly, it will make you easier to regulate your emotions.

Keep Healthy.

Problems always come without permission, came suddenly at will, and when these problems become a heavy burden for us, it will cause stress. I once wrote some healthy activities that can be done to relieve stress, such as exercising or on vacation. However, what if we can not take the time to work out or vacation?

There are some herbs that can be used as a natural stress reliever, as published on Boldsky. This would be better if you consumes herbs, because it will give better effect to the health of the body, rather than taking stress reliever drugs, which may lead to addiction. There are some of the examples :

Rosemary works by loosening tense muscles and it also will provide a relaxing effect on us. Therefore, many ancient Greek society using rosemary flower for their headdress.

This is my favorite herb, because the plant is most easily readily available at my place. In addition to having effects for diet and beauty, drinking a cup of green tea is a natural way to relieve stress. Amino acid thiamine in green tea is proven to reduce stress hormones. At least, drink up to 3-4 cups of green tea a day. Do not use excessive sugar, not using sugar would be better. Green tea also will support your success, when you're in the process of quitting smoking.
Lavender

Healthy Ways to Relieve Stress

stress affects our health
Stress is the emotional and physical strain caused by our response to pressure from the outside world. Stress seems to be a part of our lives that are difficult to avoid, especially for those of us who live big city. A solid routine, traffic jam, high work pressure, a short deadline work, romance issues, financial issues, phobia of something, and many more things that cause stress. Prolonged stress can also affect health, both physical and mental health.

And sometimes we do a variety of ways to relieve the stress, but most of us are relieving with stress in ways that are not healthy, such as smoking, drinking alkhohol, or take it out with a lot of eating, also called "emotional eating". These methods only have a momentary effect in relieving stress, and it adds an adverse effect on our body. We should know that there are many healthy ways to relieve stress.
  • Exercise. Cardio become my favorite sports to relieve stress. Jogging, cycling, swimming, or playing football is an example of a fun exercise to relieve stress on the head. Whatever your favorite sport, do it right away if your stress begin to descend
  • Meditation or yoga. This method is also one of my favorite ways. Maybe meditation or yoga are unpopular with the public. Meditation is not difficult, but it was not exactly easy. The essence of meditation practice is to manage our breathing, and circulation of oxygen going to the brain, it will certainly reduce our stress loads. Meditation will spur our thoughts become more positive
  • Immediately clean yourself. When you come home from work, and the condition of the brain is overwhelmed with work, get to the bathroom, take a bath and clean yourself. This will make yourself become more fresh. Go to the salon for a spa can also be an alternative.
  • After you take a bath and body refreshed. Immediately rest, adequate sleep will also affect your mental health. make sure to sleep 7-8 hours at night. And try to get up early, do not oversleep.
  • Go to a fun recreation. Go on a vacation to a place that you like. Look for leisure or weekend. Nature recreation is my favorite place to take a load off my mind. You can take a vacation with friends, family or even alone.  Aloof, sometimes also a way to forget all the stresses in life
  • Watching movies or listening to music. Watch comedies that make you laugh, or listen to music that is fun. Do not watch the movie and the song contains sadness, this will only add to your stress. hehehe
  • And the way that I think is the most powerful, is hanging out with your friends. Gathered, talking, joking with our comrades will be an effective way to relieve stress. With notes, hanging out with friends and doing positive activities. Do not get together then just get drunk.
If you are experiencing severe stress and prolonged, and the above methods can not help to reduce it, I suggest contacting a psychiatrist. Don't underestimate the stress. However, if we take immediate action when stress comes to attack, I believe stress can be easily overcome. So, just leave your bad habits to relieve stress, change in ways that are more healthy to get a better quality of life.

Miracles Of a Smile

Angry and Smile
Smiling, something that very easy to do, something to express excitement. Meanwhile, anger is the opposite of joy, and only creates sorrow. However, if when our mood is not good, can we smile?? precisely it should be done. Have you ever heard the saying "face with a smile"??. Yes, anger is only going to give the disease to us and makes us get old. Meanwhile, a smile in addition to giving a sense of joy, it's making us more healthy and look young.

Smiles gives a magical effect on us and around us. People would rather see us with a smile rather than scowl and expression angry. Because people with a smile will create a peaceful atmosphere around it, so people will be happy to see him and automatically we can make friends more easily. Smile we give is also contagious, so if there are other people who are sad he will be comforted and easing his grief. When you're arguing because of the romance, face with a smile, try to make her/him laugh and give something funny to your partner. Then your partner would be easier to forgive you (That's the miracles of a smile that I often experienced). :)

When we're stressed thinking about a problem, then try to smile. Psychological scientist Tara Kraft and Sarah Pressman of the University of Kansas examined the potential benefits of a smile by looking at different types of smiles, and awareness of the smile that could affect an individual's ability to recover from stress. As a result, studies have shown that smiling can actually affect the physical state. Compared to participants neutral facial expression, participants were instructed to smile, and especially those who smiled broadly appeared to have a lower heart rate after recovery from stress. These findings suggest that a brief smile during stress may help to reduce the intensity of the body's stress response, regardless of whether a person really feel happy. The study has been published in the journal Psychological Science.

Smiling helps the immune system to work better. And studies have shown can smile releases endorphins, compounds that can reduce pain naturally and serotonin. Smiles also provides a reduction in the value of blood pressure measured. Try to measure blood pressure while sitting at home, reading, and smiled for 1 minute and blood pressure back, you will see the difference. A smile is a very effective natural remedy, therefore people who are sick should be more of a laugh and feel happy to be a speedy recovery.

With a smile we will look much younger. I have a friend who is a lot older than me, he was already 42 years old, but his face looks like the age of 30 years. When I asked his secret, he simply replied, "You must often smiled and laughed, make your life always happy despite the sadness hit you, the point is smile, because smiling can make us think more positively". Especially with your photo, try to compare your photos when you smile with the photos when grim, you will look younger when you smile. Because when we smile, our facial muscles will be more flexible because it is often drawn up, so that our face will tighter. Unlike when we frown and grim, your facial muscles will drop and create a lot of wrinkles on the face.

So it all depends on your choice, are you want to be a smiling people with a lot of friends or to be a grumpy people?? Are you want to look younger or to look older??. Clearly,  let us smile more often and you will feel the miracles of a smile, for a healthier life in a simple way. :)
